Explanation to How Captain America Returned Infinity Stones in Avengers Endgame

How Captain America returned Infinity Stones without Disturbing the Timeline and what his refusal of answering Sam's question actually meant


When Captain went back in time, he first went for the soul stone. Traded the soul for another soul and got Natasha back. She helped him put back the other stones as well. As she aslo had that suit which captain had. And also she helped him correcting all the other pasts that were all messed up while collecting the stones. 

Then, they went back to the time where Steve had a dance with Peggy. He didn't end up marrying her and also asked her to keep that thing a secret so the future is not messed up and so that there might not be any other worse possibilities. So Peggy married that other guy which she was supposed to and did all the work in establishing Shield. And also became the famous Agent Carter. But when they were ready to go home, they had only one Pym Particle left so both Natasha and Rogers couldn't have returned. So they decided to stay together and lived happily.

They got married and years passed by and eventually Natasha passed away with age and Captain was enhanced enough to live for more years. Also Natasha wasn't capable of bearing a child so they didn't have to worry for that and stayed together. He would have been around 150 years old by the time he showed up at that place because he knew that things might happen that way. 

And this is why when Sam asked Rogers whether he married Peggy or not, he refused to answer that question because it was Natasha.

 

That should be the very explanation to what people have been calling a lot a mess.
